"In a FIELD laboratory in New York, Elliot Bauz is overseeing European scientist Regor Endell inject himself with nanobots with regenerative abilities in order to re-grow his left arm that he had lost while testing his scientific creation on himself many years ago. John Roman and Rob Davis chance upon an employment opportunity at The Federation of Industries for Equivalent Leaps in Development, better known as FIELD. Their work primarily entails testing the reaction of nanobots when mixed with the certain chemical compounds, to find the right compound that brings about human cloning. At FIELD, in the particle physics laboratory named Donnerday Farm, scientists have created a heavily engineered machine which is able to manipulate gravitational forces. Scientists from every sphere of science have been invited to witness the last rung of the experiment. 10 scientists, including John & Rob are requested to volunteer to test the change in gravitational pull. In a shocking turn of events, the vacuum chamber explodes but John and Rob manage to survive the destruction only to find out that the explosion was planned. Rob immediately passes out due to the wounds he suffered from the explosion and John is welcomed by a new shock that his wife, Mona, is not who he thinks she is. She confesses her association with FIELD, which leads to her death by being shot by a sniper. Enraged, John falls unconscious to the ground due to a heightened reaction of the evolving virus in his body, unable to chase his wife's killer. Hours later when an unconscious Rob wakes up, he finds Mona lying dead on the floor and John missing from the scene. He searches for John and finds him in the front yard lying naked. Together they go back to FIELD to speak to Dr. Friscott who they think has all the answers and who also happens to be Mona's father. While Dr. Friscott explains John's unique condition to them, all three of them are captured and shot with tranquilizer darts. What ensues next is a fight for survival against adversities in an unimaginable environment of jungle, oceanic waters and snow capped regions where Rob and a seemingly immortal John meet Sylvia who is also gifted with certain abilities. At the end of this fantastical journey John and Rob find a way out of the surreal terrain with help from Sylvia. They come out into the centre of Central Park, New York only to find out that they have been underground all this while. Eager to figure out the mystery of this underground lair and the purpose of putting them in it, they meet Regor Endell. Here they find out that Regor Endell and FIELD are interested in testing the extent of John's regenerative abilities, to succeed in their plans to change the world and establish a new world order. The epilogue takes the reader to a covert meeting taking place in an unknown location among six members of the FIELD committee; a meeting so covert that the members themselves are clueless about each others identities.
